Sylvia Elba started cake decorating 4 years ago.

By now she not only scored multiple shiny medals from the biggest international cake contest of the world but she took cake decorating another level!

She has always been bugged by contemporary designs, modern cake decorating mediums and novel solutions.

Just about 2 years ago she fell in love with wafer paper, this extremely versatile cake decorating material, but at that time no one really knew how to decorate cakes with wafer paper other than printed sheets and basic roses. She felt challenged and she just couldn’t let it go.

She’s dreamt about breaking down the barriers of wafer paper and taming her favorite medium so that she can create the incredibly creative designs she had in mind

She kept searching for a material that she hoped would make wafer paper workable, pliable but that would eventually dry so that the finished product would have the texture and the light weight of wafer paper, but the versatility of fondant or gum paste.

She could not find that magic material so she started experimenting with ingredients and guess what?

She invented the wonderful substance that would help her make all her wafer paper dreams come true.

This liquid turns wafer paper sheets into a material that resembles the texture of fabric, so she called it Fabriliquid.

If being an accomplished cake decorator, contestant and inventor would not be enough, Sylvia did something in April that shot her right among the cake stars. If there was a Cake Hall of Fames the Weddible Dress Cake would be Sylvia Elba’s star there.
